COME VISIT US FOR A DAY OF FAMILY FUN!
The National Dachshund Races are held the last Sunday in September (this year the date is September 30th), at the Hancock County Fairgrounds in Findlay, Ohio. May you enjoy your visit to our website and to our event.
How God made Dachshund's
God made a little Dachsie to brighten up our day.
He took a bit of sunshine, laughter, love, and play.
And rolled it up in a sausage shape just right for a hug,
with bright eye's full of mischief in its little mug.
With little paws a pattering's, to take it here and there.
And a cold wet nose, but then he thought
'Oh' what about the hair?
Shall I make it long and silky?
or wiry, that's so sweet, or make it simple,
and have it smooth and staying so neat.
And all the creatures great and small,
the answer came to him.
"OF COURSE" - I'll make them ALL!
So remember that a dachshund is special, from above
His coat of many colors, is a sign of God's great Love!

While these are called "The National Dachshund Races" and yes we have our named winners and of course those that do not win, we believe just being here is a triumph for all dogs that participate and for the families that know this is an event based on pure fun and the love of the breed.
It brings to mind a couple quotes from the famous. The first while written about football, we find quite appropriate. The first quote goes like this:
We will be competing for when the One Great Scorer comes To write against your name,
He marks not that you won or lost - But how you played the game
Author: Grantland Rice
The Second:
It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog
Author: Dwight D. Eisenhower
There are NO WINNERS AND NO LOSERS Here! All that participate are winners in our book. We want you ALL to come and enjoy a Day of Fun at The National Dachshund Races!
I'm Fixed. How About You?
Many times we hear these words and just do not realize their importance!
WE STRONGLY SUPPORT the Spay/Neuter of your Pets!

Toni Gossard, Founder and Organizer of The National Dachshund Races - Findlay, Ohio. If you think Humans have interesting traits and politics aside about marriages, Here is Toni with her Cuddles and Max who were the first Dachshunds to get married in Hancock County. From that day on any dogs can get married at the National Dachshund Races and receive a Marriage Certificate.
Our Hershey and Jesse Jane will be in line this year to tie the tails!

Max, Cuddles & Tinkerbell. If you have Dachshunds, you would simply understand what this is all about. If you do not and ever are interested in Rescuing or Adopting a VERY GOOD COMPANION, a Dachshund may be just right
for you. Look into it, you may find these twice as long and half as high dogs grow on you quickly. We ask that you PLEASE take a moment and read our own personal story on the Home Page of this website before you make ANY decisions!
